Opening Times
The clinic is open Tuesday to Saturday, from 9.30am to 5.00pm, with late nights on Wednesday and Thursday. Further opening times may be possible by arrangement, if those hours are not suitable for you.
Beauty Treatments that work in harmony with you and your body
The Diane Matthews Clinic uses treatments that work sympathetically and in harmony with your body’s natural processes. For over 30 years, Diane Matthews and her team have continually focused upon providing you with the most up to date skin and hair removal solutions.
Hair Removal
Initially Diane used Electrolysis as the main method of hair removal, then the Epilight IPL permanent hair reduction system was introduced about 10 years ago. Epilight is different to laser hair removal in that it is able to treat deep-seated hairs at the same time as protecting the various skin colours (including darker skin) safely and effectively. Epilight only uses the safe rays from the light spectrum. It does not have any gamma rays, x-rays or uv-rays or laser rays. It also does not have any infra-red, microwave or radio waves this means that it is safe for, for example, individuals who have had skin cancer or such medical history as metal knee or hip replacements.
For the treatment of very fine hairs there is Spa touch hair removal. In use for over five years now and particularly successful against fine downy hair.
And last, but not least, there is Electrolysis. This treatment is effective if you only have a few hairs that require treatment.

Once you have been able to discuss the improvements you need to see in yourself, we can talk about the treatments available. In addition our skin care professionals will be able to give you advice on any other problems you may have whilst the treatment is going on.
To ensure you get the very the latest techniques we are constantly expanding our treatments to cover acne treatment, skin tags, thread veins, wrinkles and many other skin disorders. Everything is provided to you in a caring, friendly and discreet atmosphere within the Clinic to ensure you feel no embarrassment what so ever. Diane Matthews, founder of the clinic and qualified Electrolysist and Beauty Therapist, Laser and Epilight operator with over 30 years experience in the Health and Beauty Industry, works closely with the Dermatology, Endocrinology and Gynaecology Departments at her local hospital in connection with hair growth problems.
DIANE
When you come in for a consultation for hair removal usually you will see me and I will go through your full medical history to try and find out the reason for the unwanted hair. After this I will assess the area to work out and discuss the choices you have. Then, when you are happy with everything that I have explained, including how the treatment will work for you, I may be able to carry out a test at the same time as the consultation. Prices for hair removal start from £10 per week.
Don’t worry about the quantity of hair you want removed, or the location of the hair, be it face or pubic area. I have dealt with it all before - you are not the only one - everyone thinks they have the biggest problem but I can assure you I am used to dealing with it!
JANICE
Janice has worked alongside me for nearly 25 years. She started with me on work experience for beauty and over the years went on to become the Clinic Manager. Now that she has 2 young children she only works on Tuesdays and Saturdays but carries out all of the treatments that the clinic offers.
