Microdermabrasion

Medical Microdermabrasion

Do you suffer from:

  • Active Acne and/or Congested Skin (Blackheads / Pimple / Whiteheads)
  • Acne Lesions and/or Acne Scar Formation
  • Aging Skin and/or Wrinkles
  • Pigmentation Marks
  • Stretch Marks

Any of these skin problems can be dramatically improved with a course of Microdermabrasion treatments. As we age, the automatic process of exfoliation and cell renewal slows down. Give your body a little help - with Microdermabrasion.

Microdermabrasion treatment roomWith this revolutionary treatment an extremely fine mist of microscopic aluminium oxide crystals are fired at your skin. This gentle, almost soothing, painless spray exfoliates the skin. The dead skin cells are then vacuumed into a closed-filter container and discarded.

This relatively simple and non-invasive treatment may begin immediately following your initial consultation. Similar to a gentle peel, the treatment can also improve fine lines and wrinkles, dislodge blackheads and whiteheads and treat superficial pigmentation. Microdermabrasion leaves you feeling vibrant and healthy and results in your skin that not only feels softer and smoother, but also has a healthy looking glow.

What is Microdermabrasion used for?

By controlling the power of the spray, you can achieve anything from a gentle buffing of the skin to deeper exfoliation.

How many treatments are recommended and how soon will you see the results?

Age and skin condition determine the number of treatments required to achieve the maximum effect. For most common skin conditions, a minimum of six treatments is usually required and you will notice improvement in both the skin texture and its appearance after the very first session.

How long does the treatment take?

Each treatment takes approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour depending on the area.

Are there any restrictions on my activity after Microdermabrasion treatment and are there any side effects?

You should avoid extremely hot baths, saunas and heavily perfumed products because once the top layer of skin is exposed, any extremes of temperature or anything applied to the skin may cause extra sensitivity. Following treatment there may be a slight reddening of the skin and tenderness, depending on the part of the body treated and depth of treatment.

How does Microdermabrasion compare with other skin peeling treatments?

Unlike chemical peels which utilize acids or laser ablative peels, Microdermabrasion is a safe, mechanical process of skin exfoliation that respects the integrity of skin tissue and minimizes trauma.
